Bali, a ‘Paradise’ on Earth.
Bali is a Hindu majority area:
Bali is an Indonesian Island, lying between Java to the West and Lombok to the East. Indonesia is Muslim majority country but the small island Bali is a Hindu majority (93%) area. It is as good as a ‘Paradise’. Because of tourists the Island earned a significant amount of foreign exchange leading to dramatic increase in Balinese standard of living. A bombing in 2002 by militant Islamists in tourist area of Kuta killed 202 people mostly foreigners. This attack and another in 2005 had severely affected tourism, bringing much economic hardship to the Island.
Indonesia is the largest Muslim populated country in the world:
Indonesia is a country of South East Asia. It comprises 17,508 Islands. Having inhabitants of 237 million, it becomes the largest Muslim populated country of the world and the world’s 4th populous country. It was a Dutch colony but occupied by Japan. In 2nd World war, the nationalist leader Sukarna declared independence 2 days after the surrender of Japan in August 1945.
April to October is the best time to visit Bali: Bali lying 8 degree south of equator is a tropical Island in Indonesian archipelago. Bali is part of the Lesser Sunda Islands, 145 Km long and 80 Km wide and 3.2 Km east of Java.
The highest peak of the island is Mount Agung, 3,142m high, an active volcano that was erupted in March 1963. Denpaser is the capital of Bali. April to October is the best time to visit.
Kuta and Legian are the island’s most famous beaches:
Java and Bali are two Indonesia’s more pleasant Island, decorated with temples and mega-hotels. Beaches are there along with volcano. People are terribly cuisine but friendly. Kuta and Legian are the island’s most famous beaches. Best time for visit is April to September. Other months may have rains, wind, rough seas, sea weedy sand and oppressive humidity. Ten important sights of Bali can be named as (1) Ubud- Center of Balinese painting, (2) Kuta- a popular tourist resort, (3) Nusa Dua- a tourist resort in Southern Bali, (4) Tanahlot- a Sea temple on a huge rock which is surrounded by the Sea, (5) Batubulan – Stone figures on the road side of the village Batubulan, (6) Gianyar- Capital of Bali’s old Kingdom, (7) Pura Besakih- Mother of Temple of Bali, (8) Terraced rice of paddies- a Scenic beauty in between Candidasa and Amlapura, (9) Pura Kehen- Heart of Bangli’s temples. A huge banyan tree shades the courtyard – a beauty to see, (10) Gunung Batur- a volcano, which is revered by the Balinese as the sacred mountain on the island.
Million dollar Villas are springing up along the cliff sides of South Bali:
Bali was explored by Dutch in 1597. The Island is surrounded by coral reefs because in the south tend to have white sand while in the north and west have black sand. The place such as Kuta and Ubud are wonderful beach resort and center of Island’s culture. Other centers are the districts of Legian, Seminyak and Oberoi. Million dollar Villas are springing up along the cliff sides of South Bali. Its population is 31, 51 000 in 2005.
Denpasar International Air Port is Indonesia’s third busiest airport:
Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport also known as Denpasar International Airport is located in South Bali, 13 Km South of Denpasar. It is Indonesia’s third busiest international airport.

Bali is a place of beauty in between land and sea. The beauty is created by modern technology in many developed country but in Bali apart from the man made beauty, the nature itself has created beauty. That is why the place is a land of God and a natural ‘Paradise’.
