In 1898, Hong Kong was leased to Great Britain for 99 years:
The Hong Kong, a special administrative region is a city of 7 million located on the South China Sea. Once a quiet fishing village, the City became a British crown colony in 1841. However conflict arose with China and conditional annexation took place in 1860. Again in 1898, Hong Kong was leased to Great Britain for 99 years. On July 1, 1997 Hong Kong was returned to Chinese Rule but administered under separate System of Rules. Hong Kong is a small island of 1100, SQ KM but accommodated 7 million people in skyscrapers. It has the spectacular skyline in the world. The high density of skyscrapers creamed into a small strip of land on the northern edge of the island is a phenomenal sight.
English is a common language for communication in HONG Kong:
The majority people are Chinese who speaks Cantonese but day by day people speaking Mandarin is increasing in Hong Kong Island. Of course tourists have no problem with language. The agents are well versed in English. More over British culture is prevailing in the valley as it is under British Rule for centuries and English is a common language for communication. Hong Kong is the World’s 4th largest economic center and 8th largest trading eco-center. It now consists of 4 parts: Hong Kong Island, Kowloon peninsula, the new territories and the outlying Island.Traveling Hong Kong is not difficult. Hong Kong’s Air-Port operates twenty-four hours a day carrying tourists and passengers across the world. It is one of the world’s busiest air-port.
A New Air-Port in Lantau Island:
The beauty of Hong Kong is not limited to the urban area but it also extended to the vast village area. In Hong Kong’s territory, there are about 200 outer lying islands including a vast area of New Territories connected to the mainland filled with natural beauty. The Mai Po Wetland of New Territory is a sanctuary for migratory birds; The Lantau Island is bigger than Hong Kong and thinly populated. Its inhabitants are fisherman. It is connected to the mainland by regular ferry service. It has many hiking trails. So long the urbanization of this area has been avoided in order to protect the beautiful green nature. Now a new Air-Port is under construction in Lantau Island although the loss of beautiful scenic beauty is certain to some extent.

Hong Kong was leased for 99 years in the year 1831 to the British Kingdom. The British established the Victoria Park, the Crown colony and there lies the greatness in the statesmanship of British Rulers.
